YEAR 4 JOURNEY TO BRAESIDE BULLETIN

TUESDAY 1ST APRIL 2008

 

WEATHER

Dry and fine, with lots of sunshine.

A bit cold at times.

 

 

LUNCH

Picnic lunch (eco-friendly…no wrappers, cartons).

 

DAYTIME ACTIVITIES

Breakfast

Walk to town (Wadworths Brewery, Market Place, Castle, Church)

Drews Pond Wood

Pond dipping

Woolly Worms trail (habitats)

Leisure time: football, table tennis, Frisbee, running…

 

 

EVENING MEAL

Turkey roast, large roast potatoes, carrots and peas.

Sponge cream cake, yoghurt and/ or fruit.

 

 

EVENING ACTIVITIES

DVD: "Flushed Away".

 

BEDTIME

Children were in bed by 9:00 pm; lights out at 9:30 pm.

Most children were fast asleep by 10:00 pm.

 

REFLECTIONS

Another sunny day, full of fun learning. Pond dipping was very exciting; found a mayfly nymph. Children really enjoyed taking exercise in the grounds during the afternoon, whilst the adults enjoyed refreshing cups of tea on the terrace!! Excellent appetites at dinner time.

WEATHER

Dry and fine, with lots of sunshine.

 

LUNCH

Packed lunches and drinks (picnic lunch).

 

DAYTIME ACTIVITIES

Safe arrival at the Centre

Welcome and introductions

Visit to a local farm

Walk to Canal Wharfside and museum/ photosearch

 

EVENING MEAL

Pizza/ jacket potato/ cauliflower cheese with baked beans, sweetcorn and side salad

Apple crumble & custard, yoghurt and/ or fruit

 

EVENING ACTIVITIES

Unpacking and settling in time

Brass rubbings trail around the grounds

Beetle Drive

 

BEDTIME

Children were in bed by 9:00 pm; lights out at 9:30 pm.

 

REFLECTIONS

Children have been very inquisitive; keen and interested in learning new things. Behaviour has been excellent. Great weather has put everyone in a really good mood! All are looking forward to the Y5 Journey to Braeside!!
